The dealer already sold the Vue. It doesn't show up on any of the dealer group's websites anymore. Well, either they sold it or it's heading off to another dealership somewhere.

If they did sell it, I wonder if they got the $13,000 they were asking for it. I hope some poor schmuck didn't pay that much for a 7 year old car with 75,000 miles and a failing transmission...

Kinja'd!!!

I'll have to Google the VIN in a few days and see if a different dealer group shows up.

They are fixing the trans. Or found out about it, and off to the auctions.

I kinda doubt they've figured it out. It wasn't really noticeable unless you knew about it. Entirely possible though.

The dealer you traded it in at had to know that the transmission was on it's way out right?

If they somehow didn't notice, They might have tried to get it fixed or carted it off to an auction to be sold in the same condition at a sketchy used car lot. Except the transmission problem would have miraculously dispersed into thin air.

They didn't say anything about it. And they gave us exactly what KBB said for it being in "Excellent" condition.

Ooops, I'm starting to feel sorry for the next owner as we speak.

Same, Or a 90 day money back or something so the dealer can replace it and the new owners won't have to worry about it.

1. How long ago did you trade it in?

2. Was it ever listed on their site?

We traded it in the 2nd when we picked up the Fusion.

Yep, there was a listing since the Monday after we traded it, but there were never pictures taken and put up of it.

I know a lot of dealers put cars up on their site shortly after taking them as trades to attract attention, and then take them down if they decide not to sell them.

When I was looking to replace my '99 WJ Grand Cherokee (which I ended up doing with an '05 WK Grand Cherokee) I had a couple other Grand Cherokees that I found online but the dealers didn't end up wanting to sell them due to various mechanical issues they found after listing them online.

I just had been Johnny on-the-spot finding them online before the dealers had finished their full inspections. One dealer told me they'd answer my questions about its condition after they finished their inspection, and then said the result of their inspection was they're not going to sell it. The other said I could look at it in their shop, and it had a bunch of obvious issues, which the sales guy then said "yeah I don't think we're going to try to sell this one."

So they could very well have done an inspection and decided not to retail it.
